Dean Pines with Sylvie DeLaHunt.

 

Aerospace junior, Sylvie DeLaHunt, is the Women in Aviation International (WAI) 2013 recipient of the Delta Air Lines Engineering Scholarship. The award consists of a $5,000 scholarship as well as a trip to the 24th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference (worth $2,000) in March. Sylvie was selected to receive this award based on her excellent academic, co-curricular, and personal achievements. Congratulations, Sylvie!

Sylvie DeLaHunt is a junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in International Engineering at the University of Maryland. She is part of the University Honors Program and the Aerospace Engineering Departmental Honors Program. On campus, she is a member of UMD's Human-Powered Helicopter Team, the MD Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, AIAA, and actively involved within the Honors College. She is also completing undergraduate research with Dr. Norman Wereley, and spent her summer participating in an Aerospace study abroad program in Toulouse, France.
